YOPP supersites data

By steingod | Sun, 05/26/2019 - 14:34

Several of the YOPP modelling teams have been working on extraction of data over YOPP supersites. Information from two models in the Arctic, ARPEGE and ECCC-CAPS are now available in NetCDF/CF through a THREDDS Data Server. Work is in progress to make these data searchable through the YOPP catalogue. The data is available at http://thredds.met.no/thredds/catalog/alertness/YOPP_supersite/catalog.html.

YOPP data hosted at PANGAEA

By steingod | Sun, 05/26/2019 - 13:58

PANGAEA is hosting YOPP data. Information on these datasets are regularly harvested from the YOPP Data Portal and ingested. YOPP datasets hosted by PANGAEA are attached to the YOPP project which is available at https://www.pangaea.de/?f.project=YOPP. Several of the datasets have parent/child relationships. Maintenance of these parent/child relationships is attempted in the searchable YOPP catalog.

YOPP SH SOP radiosonde data hosted by British Antarctic Survey

British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is collecting radiosonde data that were produced during YOPP Southern Hemisphere Special Observing Period (SOP). These data are stored on a FTP server by BAS which is available at ftp://ftp.bas.ac.uk/src/YOPP-SH/radiosondes/.

Catalogue trouble

By steingod | Wed, 11/21/2018 - 21:02

Following an upgrade of the front- and backend services of the catalogue, the catalogue search engine was restructured yesterday and reindexing of datasets initiated. During the evening of November 21 a hardware outage prevented completion of the reindexing process. Due to this, the catalogue is yet not properly populated. This work will continue once hardware issues have been fixed.

Updates to the search interface and the catalogue

By steingod | Sun, 07/01/2018 - 11:15

This weekend the YOPP Data Portal backends were updated to take advantage of a number of improvements in the search interface. In this process,  synoptic weather station information extracted from WMO GTS have been added to the catalogue. These stations are normally presented as time series at stations. The search interface now allows plotting and transformation of these data on the fly. As this is a net centric service, beware that depending on the network traffic and the response time of the contributing data centres web services this may take some seconds.
