PANGAEA is hosting YOPP data. Information on these datasets are regularly harvested from the YOPP Data Portal and ingested. YOPP datasets hosted by PANGAEA are attached to the YOPP project which is available at https://www.pangaea.de/?f.project=YOPP. Several of the datasets have parent/child relationships. Maintenance of these parent/child relationships is attempted in the searchable YOPP catalog.
British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is collecting radiosonde data that were produced during YOPP Southern Hemisphere Special Observing Period (SOP). These data are stored on a FTP server by BAS which is available at ftp://ftp.bas.ac.uk/src/YOPP-SH/radiosondes/.
The YOPP Data Portal is harvesting discovery metadata on YOPP datasets hosted at PANGAEA. Datasets are discoverable, but there are no higher order services like bundling with other data, subsetting nor visualisation available.
ECMWF has begun to generate an extended two-year global dataset to support the World Meteorological Organization’s Year of Polar Prediction (YOPP). read the full article at http://www.ecmwf.int/en/about/media-centre/news/2017/ecmwf-generating-d…. Metadata information on this dataset is included in the metadata search available in the YOPP Data Portal.
The YOPP Data Portal is the entry point for YOPP datasets. It offers a web interface that contains information about datasets (through discovery metadata). These metadata are harvested on a regular basis from data centres actually managing the data on behalf of the owners/providers of the data.
